Answers about the Orbari app and this website.

About Orbari

What is Orbari?

Orbari is a personal relationship manager for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Think of it as a contacts app that remembers people, not just phone numbers. You can keep notes about the people who matter, log catch-ups, map how your family and friends are connected, and set follow-ups so you remember to check in.

Can I download Orbari yet?

Not yet. Orbari is still being built and tested. It will be sold through the App Store. To hear when it launches, sign up for email updates at the bottom of any page.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no login. You open the app and start. Your records are kept on your device from the first moment.

How does catch-up capture work?

After a catch-up, write, paste or record what happened. On devices that support Apple Intelligence, Apple’s built-in artificial intelligence (AI), Orbari suggests people, dates, details and follow-ups. This happens on your device. You review the suggestions before anything is saved. On any supported device, you can also add and edit everything by hand.

Privacy and your data

Is my information private?

Yes, by design. Your records are kept on your device, and the AI suggestions and speech recognition run on your device too. There is no Orbari server that stores your records, and we can’t see them. The app has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.

Does Markdown mirroring sync my app database?

No. Markdown files are plain text files that many notes apps can open, such as Obsidian. Mirroring is off until you turn it on. Then Orbari writes readable copies of your people, including notes and saved recordings, to a folder you choose, such as iCloud Drive or an Obsidian vault (the folder Obsidian keeps your notes in). The files can sync through your storage service, but they are not a complete backup and cannot rebuild Orbari’s database on another device. Syncing the database between your devices is being tested and is not available yet.

Can I get my information out?

Yes. For free, you can export people and their connections as an Orbari file and choose which details to include. With the one-time unlock, Orbari can also write readable Markdown copies of your people and notes. Neither is a complete backup of the app. Exported files stay where you put them, even if you delete or reset the app, so remove them yourself when you no longer need them.

My Markdown files are not updating. What can I do?

Open Settings in Orbari and choose Sync. Check that Markdown mirroring is turned on and that your chosen folder is still available. Then select Export now to try again. If it still doesn’t work, send us a private report with your Orbari version and your device.

Purchases and devices

What can I use for free?

You can keep up to five people for free. A one-time purchase unlocks unlimited people, Markdown mirroring and export, and extra app icons. The App Store will show the price in your region when Orbari is available.

Is it a subscription?

No. It is a one-time purchase. You pay once and keep it. There is no subscription and there are no ads.

Which devices are supported?

Orbari is built for iPhone, iPad and Mac with iOS 26, iPadOS 26 or macOS 26 or later. iPhone, iPad and Mac are planned under one purchase. AI suggestions need a device that supports Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence turned on. Everything else works on any supported device.

How do I restore my purchase?

Make sure you are signed in with the Apple Account that bought the unlock. On iPhone or iPad, open Orbari, tap the Settings button (the gear), choose Plan, then tap Restore Purchases. On a Mac, open the Orbari menu, choose Settings, choose Plan, then click Restore Purchases. The Unlock Orbari screen also has a Restore Purchases button.

Does this website use cookies?

It sets one cookie of its own, and only if you vote or comment on the roadmap. The cookie holds a random code so the site can count one vote per browser, and it lasts up to one year. Simple Analytics counts visits to the public pages without cookies. Your light or dark theme choice is kept in your browser’s storage, not in a cookie. So is a bug report or idea you are still writing, until you send it or close the tab.
